BEARFEST Misc:
The 6th Annual Shining Light Charity Golf Scramble, hosted by Dan and Lisa Puthoff, is scheduled for Saturday, September 27th. It will be a 1:00 p.m. shot gun start at Vista Verde golf course in Hamilton, OH. Vista Verde is a great course for golfers of all skill levels. This is a not a competitive event – so it’s a great opportunity for first time golfers to come out and have a great time.
HOW ARE THE PROCEEDS USED?
The objective of the event is to raise money to help organizations that provide care and services to critically ill infants and children with disabilities. In our first 5 years, we have raised over $70,000. This year the proceeds will be used to fund programs at the following organizations. We are directly involved with each of the organizations in directing the funds:
- The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition (www.taasc.org)
a. The mission of TAASC is to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities by providing opportunities to participate in sports and recreational activities
- Miracle League Baseball (www.miracleleaguegreatercincinnati.org)
a. The Miracle League is made up of communities across the country that sponsor baseball programs for children with disabilities and believes that every child deserves the opportunity to play baseball.
- CRC Youth Accessible Golf Program
a. This is a program organized by the Cincinnati Recreation Commission and provides opportunities for children with disabilities to enjoy the game of golf.
- NICU at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital
EVENT REGISTRATION

Please register early to ensure a spot! If you don’t have a foursome, don’t worry threesomes, twosomes, and individual golfers are all welcome.
OTHERS WAYS TO HELP
In addition to golfing, you can also contribute by sponsoring holes and golf carts. Cash donations of any size are also welcome and appreciated. Additionally, we are looking for any and all donations of items that can be used as prizes.
